GEORGE KUENTZ is one of the well-to-do farmers of Sheboygan Falls Township, and owns a finely improved farm on section 14.  He is a native of Germany, born January 19, 1846, in Hesse-Darmstadt.  He is one of ten children, who are all living.  His brother Henry is a machine agent of Sheboygan Falls; William is a farmer living near Pilot Rock, Ore.; and Herman is in the hardware business in Milwaukee.

    Our subject was brought to America by his parents when he was only an infant, and they moved on the farm on which he now lives in 1846.  The country was then very new and wild, and having been a witness of its primitive condition and the development of succeeding years, he has a right to be called one of the pioneers.  He started out from home on reaching man's estate, at the age of twenty-six years, being in possession of about $1,500, which he invested in the cooperage business on the Green Bay Road.

    On the 23d of February, 1873, a marriage ceremony was performed which united the fortunes of Mr. Kuentz and Miss Carmena Beeck.  Three children have graced their union:  Alvanina, who is deceased; Richard and Hulda, who live at home and assist their parents in every way.

    For about nine years, Mr. Kuentz continued to run his cooper shop, after which he bought his father's farm, and has since been busily engaged in agricultural pursuits.  In addition to carrying on the farm, he is a successful cheese manufacturer, has a factory on the home place, and does an annual business amounting to $12,000.  He keeps about twenty-five cows.  His farm comprises one hundred and twenty acres, which are under good improvement, and his substantial buildings attest the care and attention of the owner.

    In politics, our subject is a Democrat and first voted for Horatio Seymour.  He is a very busy man, and as he finds his time fully occupied, has not accepted official honors.  He is a friend to education and has given his children good advantages.  In religion, he is a Lutheran, and belongs to the German Reformed Church, of which Rev. Mr. Hillman is pastor.
